The Frankfurter Ruder- und Kanusportverein Sachsenhausen was founded in 1898 in Frankfurt am Main and is one of the oldest rowing and canoe clubs to offer the two sports of rowing and canoeing under one roof.
The roots of today's club lie in the former Frankfurt rowing clubs „Teutonia“, „Alemannia“, „Amicitia“ and the „Free Canoeists“.
Out of the political situation, these clubs merged in 1938, which ultimately led to our present club name.
For many years we were the only club in the region to offer rowing and canoeing under one „roof“. Today we're still the only club in Frankfurt to combine these sports and to live the exchange, mutual understanding and consideration between them. Many of us have been active in the other class of boat at some point and can assess and appreciate the sport-specific requirements.
The club acts selflessly and pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes, currently promoting mainly grassroots sport.
