Taster sessions & getting started Request a taster session
„Always wanted to glide across the Main in a rowing boat – or explore the city from a kayak? Then come on by.“
With us, no one is on their own at the start: if they wish, complete beginners first head out in a double, accompanied by experienced athletes. That way you get used to the water at your own pace.
Every Tuesday from 5 p.m. we are at the boathouse in person to answer your questions.
Rowing
€50A taster course of 3 practice sessions of 60–90 min each, for adults aged 25 and over. Youth aged 11 and over and under 25 simply enquire with their age – different terms apply for them.
Kayak
€15A taster session by appointment. On request, complete beginners join us in a double at first – so you get used to the water with someone alongside you. The deposit is credited towards membership; youth under 18, pupils, trainees, students, voluntary social year & long-term unemployment benefit are free.

About us
One history, two sports, one club.
Founded in 1898 in Frankfurt am Main, we're one of the oldest clubs to unite rowing and canoeing under one roof – and to this day we live the exchange between both worlds.

Founded in Frankfurt am Main – the roots of today's club.

Merger of „Teutonia“, „Alemannia“, „Amicitia“ and the „Free Canoeists“.

125 years of FRVS – celebrated on the club grounds, and rowed even on the Vltava.

The only Frankfurt club to offer rowing and canoeing at once – non-profit, at home in grassroots sport.
