Rowing youth successful in Bürgel

On 2 and 3 July, our small regatta training group competed at the regatta in Offenbach Bürgel. Taking part were Hadrian and Tim, each in the single and together in the double. Tim made the start on Saturday in the junior A single. After an unlucky race, with a brief blade contact with a boat coming the other way, he still confidently secured second place. Afterwards Hadrian sprinted to victory in the junior B single. The first win for him and for our new racing single „Wum“. But there was no resting on that, because the start in the junior A double came shortly afterwards. Here the two took a confident wire-to-wire win.

The race in the junior A single on Sunday was hard-fought. In the close final sprint, Tim made up a place here and had to admit defeat only to the very good single from Aschaffenburg. Tim's good time couldn't be beaten in the second heat of this race either. Hadrian, too, had to fight for every centimetre in the single in a gripping neck-and-neck race. After a slower start, he managed to pull past on the course and secure the win once more. In the final double race, Tim and Hadrian took a confident second place. The winning boat from Mannheim was still out of striking distance that day.

With the three wins, we return home from Bürgel very content. That was a very successful start to the season that whets the appetite for more.
