After rather training-light summer holidays, the rowing youth got properly stuck into the blades and sculls again in the first Hessian school week, since the regatta in Limburg was already on the programme the weekend after the holidays. On one sunny and one very rainy regatta day, the young people mastered their races with flying colours and were able to win four victories for the FRVS. Laura made the start, winning her race on Saturday as a lightweight in the open weight class of the 14-year-old girls. On both race days, Lucia confidently won her race in the B-junior women. Sarah achieved her first win in the race of the lightweight girls aged 14. Hadrian, after chatting away on Saturday and so gaining a friend but missing his race, had to admit defeat against the strong competition on Sunday. The double with Laura and Sarah, too, couldn't prevail in a hard-fought race.

Two weeks and a few training sessions later, it was off to the start again at the regatta in Großauheim. Here Laura was able to prevail clearly among the lightweight girls on both race days. On Sunday the FRVS even managed a one-two, as Sarah secured second place with a spirited final sprint. In the unusual boat class of the junior A/B mixed double, Lucia and Hadrian won their heat on Saturday but then, on Sunday, in the heat with pure junior A boats, couldn't contend for the win. In the singles, Hadrian (junior men A) and Lucia (junior women B) only narrowly missed further wins and, at the finish, had to settle for second places with deficits sometimes of under a second in hard-fought races on both days.

With these successes at the autumn regattas, the competition season ends for the FRVS rowing youth. The young people were able to gather valuable competition experience and had lots of fun. We head fully motivated into winter training in order to be able to build on these results next year.
