The rowing youth used the extended Whitsun weekend for a training camp in Erfelden on the Altrhein. We were able to be guests of the very nice rowers and paddlers of DSW Darmstadt.

To prepare for the upcoming regatta season, rowing in the skiff – the narrow racing single – was specifically trained. Alongside the daily training programme – jogging, 1st water session, strength training and 2nd water session – and preparing the meals together, the free time was used for playing cards and swimming. A special highlight was the extensive capsize training. As the name suggests, this was less about getting back in after a capsize – all participants managed that without problems – and more about performing demanding balance exercises in the single. The particularly skilful even managed to swap both sculls on the water – without capsizing!

The training camp in the idyllic natural setting was a complete success. Bring on the regatta season!

Come on by. The first time is always with someone alongside you.
