Hessian champion 2024 in the outrigger

Our OC-6 mixed team is still on a winning streak. After a good start to the season in Berlin over 18 km, the outrigger six selection of the Frankfurter Ruder- und Kanusportverein Sachsenhausen 1898 e. V. once again rowed to first place.

„We're very proud of our strong women in our mixed team. Congratulations“ … said our chair Lars at the end of our successful race on Saturday 4 May.

At this year's MMC, the Main Metropolitan Cup, hosted by the Frankfurter Kanu Verein 1913 e. V., the open Hessian Championship in outrigger sport (outrigger canoe) was held again. Among the starters were a total of 11 outrigger sixes: 3 open boats, 8 mixed boats. In the mixed cup at least 2 women had to be on board. Our team had 3 women on board.

„Of course we're also proud of our men, because overall we delivered an outstanding team performance“ … said one of our strong men in the boat, Jürgen.

And that's what matters in the outrigger canoe with 6 paddlers: paddling together in harmony.

Over 15 km, our „mixed crew“ measured itself in competition with the other teams.

By the aforementioned word „outstanding“, Jürgen also means that we were not only the fastest boat in our racing group, the mixed cup. We were the fastest boat of all. Our FRVS team, in their boat with the poetic name „White Pearl“, earned the best overall time of 1:16:19.

By a clear margin, we left the open teams behind us too.
